With VERTICS. Sleeves against the Cold pump. The most heard word in the morning on the two Leadcup days last weekend at KBZ Freimann: “Kaltpump”.

If the first climbing tour starts hard early in the morning and the body is not yet completely at operating temperature, the cold pump is pre-programmed.

If you don’t back down, it can end the climbing day prematurely. Whether bouldering or route climbing, alpine tours or multi-pitches, and especially competition climbing, the cold start in the morning brings problems. (Source for the topic of cold pumps: klettern.de “Warming up for climbing – why and how?“)

Mental problems can also arise in the first tour of the day, when full performance is already required here. The holds are tightened tighter than in relaxed climbing and you pump your arms all the more. In lead competition climbing, it is advantageous to warm up in some longer routes and not only with trusses on the boulder wall.

What else can be done about the cold pump? A good warm-up for the whole body helps (see also the above-mentioned klettern.de link) and especially for the forearms an optimized warm-up with VERTICS. Sleeves.

To do this, it is best to put on the sleeves before the start of the warm-up training.

VERTICS.Sleeves muscle compression
Muscle compression leads to accelerated blood flow and faster warm-up of the forearm area including the hand and wrist as well as the elbow joint. The forearm muscle warms up faster and can perform without being pumped too fast. In addition, of course, there are the other advantages of compression sleeves, such as

  • More endurance performance through optimized blood flow
  • Less pump due to faster removal of the used, oxygen-poor blood from the forearm muscle
  • Faster regeneration between routes and after climbing

For competitive climbing, especially lead, VERTICS. sleeves contribute significantly to better overall performance. And without cheating or doping!

By the way, VERTICS. Sleeves are of course approved for national and international competitions .
